The Basic Education Laws Amendments Bill is currently on President Ramaphosa’s desk waiting to be signed into law as part of the pre-election legislative frenzy. The DA, ACDP and FF Plus opposed the Bill while the EFF, IFP and PAC voted with the ANC in support of the Bill.

Greg Wolmarans, the prosecutor in the trial of Zane Kilian, Nafiz Modack and 13 others, has told the Cape High Court that Kilian knew he was ‘dealing with a police member. There is nothing in this trace reporting to give the indication that this is repossession of anything, much less a vehicle.’

The tubers I had planted in the ground last year threw up shoots that grew like Jack’s beanstalk, some almost as tall as the house. This month I harvested the new tubers and I roasted them to make a pasta sauce. But guess what: they’re not artichokes at all.
