Permissions will only be approved from 8:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-4:30pm during NSO advising days.

I must be responsible to study the material on my own, which would be transmitted in an on person class through face-to-face lectures and activities. If I have questions on the material, I must be responsible for getting in touch with my instructor virtually to ask for help. 5. My virtual attendance at one of the two offered online class meetings each week is mandatory and I must attend. |
HISP-S100 HISP-S251 HISP-S 281 HISP-S 309 | Elementary Spanish Intermediate Spanish for Heritage Speakers (P: S200 or appropriate placement score). Students who place into S251 but want to take S250 instead will need to set up permission to enroll. Advanced Spanish for Heritage Speakers (P: HISP-S 251 or appropriate placement score). Students who place into S281 but want to take S250 instead will need to set up permission to enroll. Spanish Writing for Heritage Speaker (P: HISP-S181 or appropriate placement score) | No more than a year (2 sem.) of Spanish in high school. Have them complete the online permission form Please do not override placement exam results. Heritage classes are for heritage students, who grew up speaking/hearing Spanish at home or in their communities, and should have taken the Spanish Placement Test for Heritage Speakers. Scale: 597-702 goes into HISP-S 251 703-930 goes into HISP-S 281 931-1000 goes into HISP-S 309-if S 309 is the first class they want to take at the 300-level –Department highly recommends it. NOTE: HISP-S251 is equivalent to HISP-S250 and replaces the S250 requirement for the major and minor in Spanish. MATH-M 212 | Calculus II | For students who self-report a strong performance on the new sample exam for the Calculus Placement exam(20-24). The student is still expected to successfully take the actual CPE on campus in summer or August (unless they earn MATH-M 211 credit in another way, such as AP or dual credit). OR Student has unposted Calc 1 transfer credit or MATH M 215 or Math 16500 or some other equivalent prereq for M 212. The instructor does have the right to administratively drop a student who lacks the prereq when the class starts. |
