Mining and Explosives Engineering

This position will provide administrative and fiscal support to a $15.52 million sponsored project over 2 years. The individual will be responsible for supporting faculty with purchases, hiring, and fiscal reporting for the project. They would be responsible for coordinating project meetings and providing other admin support as needed. After the 2 year period, depending on approval for a new university research center, the position is likely to be transferred to the new research center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the critical minerals research group (soon to be center): Manage the center’s web presence, events calendar, answer main phone line and email account. Be the point of contact for stakeholders. Coordinate annual center reports as well as periodic reports for center-level projects with center director. Manage center events including space reservations, advertisem*nt, logistics coordination, travel coordination, and expense tracking
  • Provide fiscal support for critical minerals research group: Make purchases for graduate students and faculty who do not have Onecards, provide monthly fiscal summaries of center-level grants, work with center director to prepare fiscal reports for sponsors, build annual center budgets, and provide monthly updates on center finances
  • Support proposal development efforts: Provide project management support for proposal development including develop and help keep timeline for proposal submission, support faculty in assembling and formatting standard documents (e.g., faculty bios, current and pending support, etc.) for faculty developing proposals, and tracking progress of proposals
  • Other duties as assigned

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $21.42 to $29.41 hourly.


Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
